My only real complaint is that they always seem to be limited on staff. I understand desire to keep prices low, but this is the kind of business where people ask a lot of questions. The check out lines are usually pretty long too.

I like the navigable space of JOANN's. They have a lot of what you need. Easy in, easy out. A couple of the other bigger stores are not as handy for quick last min supplies. It is my firs choice.
They do have a great selection, and frequently offer coupons, so watch for those.
Lots of options if you sew, the crafting side of things is a little light and selective. Most of their staff are crafters so they are knowledgeable. Don't buy anything without a coupon from the internet or mail, there prices are designed to be discounted before purchase.
