I've always had the up-most respect for those who walk the: "Thin Blue Line", the ladies and gentlemen that work for this agency continue to make me proud. I've been working security for a while now, and every interaction I have with this department continues to impress. They are very professional, and are dedicated to the service they provide to our community. I know if I ever need them, they will be right there without a blink of an eye. I thank you guy's for your service, and continue to make us proud!
Absolutely the most INCOMPETENT police department on the planet; and this includes Mayberry! The little midget chief is more concerned with extorting money out of people driving past this dump of a town via his illegal photo speed cameras than he is of curtailing the DAILY shootings from the "Chicago element" (Blacks) that infests this rancid burg.
I thought it was against the law to threaten violence against a person. But in Cedar Rapids it is legal I am physically handicapped but last winter I had a neighbor that made my daughter and my life hell daily harrasement him coming out sticking his fist in my face but we had no rights. Was threatened at Walmart and there were witness's but since it took him a half hour to get their the people left. Today a woman hit us from behind because she was going to fast on the 100% snow covered roads called police so the woman and her three passengers start calling us names and one passenger said " your lucky I don't want to go to jail today or I would beat your ass" I took that as a threat. But yes they kept calling us names and yes we yelled back but then we were in the wrong for yelling back. But we did not threaten them lets see I have to worry about my and my daughters safety as I need a cane to help me walk. But the cop came and talked to the 3 woman and then came and said we pulled out in front of them and he did not believe us. I told him my back was hurting he shrugged and walked away sure looked like a shrug to me. So her having many many traffic tickets in the past gets off scott free me who has only had 1 ticket over 7 years ago gets a ticket because he was determined we were at fault. Guess speeding on a day like today is legal. I do not know what I ever did to the Cedar Rapids police dept. to deserve this. I am fed up with being threatened I am sure if this was done to their moms or wives or daughters it would not be tolerated. So I do try to respect the law and I do not do drugs or break the law or even hardly ever drink but I have no respect for the law that lets people threten others nor listen fairly to both sides. They also do nothing for noise as the last place we lived they know is horrible. There is one decent police officer there we have talked to a lady. But the bad cops you got there kinda make them all look bad. But I spent hours at the hospital today he said his superviser was busy which considering the road conditions that part was probably true. My insurance agent from Jones county also was upset at how we were treated and had heard that the Cedar Rapids pd is bad for not doing nothing. Also have heard from others that the police take forever to respond to a call and then do nothing. So what are they getting paid for? If they do not want to do their job then they should look for a different job. This accident was caused by a reckless driver going way to fast for road conditions let alone when I looked in my mirror her phone was up to her head but cop basically told me I was lieing. Let alone the women in the other vehicle and were laughing and it sure looked like to me he was to I did not see nothing funny about what happened especially since I have grade 2 spondylothisis of the spine the only thing holding my spinal cord is muscle and tendons so their recklessness could have caused me to be paralyzed And now the car my father left me when he died of cancer is smashed up. So yes I am angry because this cop thinks speeding is ok and threatening a disabled person is ok. Also there is suppose to be video of it but being disabled and on a fixed income I have to pay to see it. So did not know you had to pay to see so called evidence did call the watch commander and will be filling a formal complaint when I am feeling not so sore but am sure that will get me no where. Perhaps it would help if the male officers did not flirt with the other party just saying. No wonder people have little to no trust in cops. Maybe if I had a long list of traffic violations and a criminal history I would then qualify for help from the cops. Lived in the western suburbs of Chicago for about 7 years and did not have people threatening me. Lived in Cedar Rapids For a little over a year and a half now and have been threatened 4 people. Maybe if the cops did something maybe people would not harrase and threaten people.
Waited for a police report 8 minutes with absolutely nobody at the window, got my phone out to call the PD to see if I was even in the right place. When someone finally came out to help the long line of people he was not friendly and was short with people. He told me if I want my own full accident report I need a subpoena. I have heard nothing back from the officer who told me to email him with additional photos and information.
